Short Description
A three wheeled, hand propelled recumbent tricycle suitable for adults. The Hand Trike is for individuals who have limited or no use of their lower limbs, but can use their hands to pedal and steer the trike. Available in one size only. Can be customised.

FRAME: All Reynolds 531 or Aircraft grade 4130 Chrome Molly Tubing.
COLOURS: Seat Colour: Bright Yellow, Ultramarine Blue.
SEAT: Seat Angle: 50 degrees from horizontal.
WHEELS: Front & Rear Wheels: Araya 510mm x 47mm. Tyres: LHR Semi Slick, 50psi. Road, Off road.
CASTORS: 11 degrees.
BRAKES: Twin Sachs VT 70mm Drums.
METHOD OF USE: The individual sits on the trike in a recumbent position (sitting low to the ground with their back supported by the mesh in a semi reclined position). The trike is propelled by holding onto the levers and turning them in a clockwise position (note: they turn together and not in a reciprical pattern). Steering is controlled by turning either left or right with the hands.
COMMENTS: Leg Length adjustment: Sliding footrest. Arm Length Adjustment: Crank bracket. Steering: Crank Handles. Ratio: 1.1:1.
Recumbent position supports the whole body, allows greater power through the pedals, and cuts down air resistence (less effort required compared to conventional bike).
Very stable (which also eliminates the danger of going over the handle bars compared to conventional bikes).
Can be difficult to get on/off the trike.
Because the trike is low to the ground it may be difficult for other vehicles to see it (though it is supplied with a safety flag and no major problems have been reported by users).
