Short Description
A car seat suitable for children. It is comprised of a moulded seat shell with a removable padded cover, adjustable padded head supports and a shoulder harness with padded crotch strap. It is secured in a vehicle with an upper tether strap and rear adult seat belt. The car seat can also be used with a mobility base to make the unit a multi use buggy. The car seat is available in 2 sizes and is suitable for children and small adults between 9 and 59kg.

MATERIALS: The seat is made from reinforced plastic and there is a steel bar at the rear of the seat. The seat is covered in foam and washable plush fabric.
SUITABLE FOR: The child seat is available in 2 sizes. The child size is suitable for children between 9 and 46kg. The small adult size is suitable for users between 29.5 and 59kg.
POSITION OF SUPPORT: Seated facing forward and upright.
ATTACHMENT: The standard anchorage points for a child restraint system are not strong enough for a specialized car seat such as this. A modification is required to ensure the anchorage points are suitable and therefore safe. The modification needs to be undertaken and certified by a company which is authorized by Queensland Transport to modify motor vehicles.
Position car seat on vehicle seat. Secure tether strap to the vehicle's anchor bolt (anchorage point). Thread vehicle's seat belt through 2 metal tubes on underside of Columbia seat. Connect seat belt buckle and tighten vehicle's seat belt as tight as possible to hold Columbia seat in place. Refer to manufacturer's user instructions for step by step guide/video.
OTHER FEATURES:
Standards features include a 5 point harness (with padded shoulder and groin strap), tether strap and bolt (for securing to vehicle).
Padded head supports are height adjustable and removable. Includes 4 lateral positioning foam pads.
An optional mobility base is available to allow the car seat to be used as a stroller. It is designed to fold compactly and store for travelling. Features pneumatic rear wheels and solid front swivel wheels.
STYLE OF HARNESS: 5 point harness connected by a single buckle.
COLOURS: Fabric can come in blue, grey or pink.
CUSTOMISATION: Foam padding can be customised to suit the passenger e.g. can be cut out or foam pieces added to where it is needed under the cover.
REMOVAL & CLEANING: Cover is machine washable and can be dried. Harness webbing can be washed with a damp, spongy sponge and air dried. Do not use chemicals or bleach as this may weaken the harness.
Additional Comment
A doctor`s letter is required when using this car seat. The letter needs to state that the user is exempt on medical grounds from using an Australian Standards compliant child restraint. The letter must accompany the user at all times as it applies to all travel in a vehicle.
