Short Description
The Careva Postural Belt System is comprised of a spinal belt which is fastened vertically over the backrest of a chair. A separate thoracic belt, pelvic belt or shoulder harness can then be inserted in the grooves of the vertical spinal belt. Careva postural belts assist people who need extra support when sitting and are to be used in conjunction with a standard vehicle seat belt. A complete package is also available in three sizes.

COMPONENTS
Spinal Belt:
Vertical belt which forms the foundation of the harness system.
Contains 3-5 grooves for correct individual level.
Available in wider or narrow model depending on body size.

Shoulder Harness:
U shaped belt to fix the upper body and prevent person from falling forward.
Belt offers greater support for the shoulder

Thoracic Belt:
Lateral belt designed to position the upper body and prevent person from falling forwards or to the side.

Pelvic T-Belt:
T-shaped belt, designed to maintain the pelvis to the back of the seat for positioning.
Can be used with very active passengers or to prevent person from sliding forward.

Combi Harness:
Combination of shoulder harness and pelvic T-belt.
Available in range of sizes depending on body sizes (small, medium, large).

Buckles:
Standard - Harnesses have metal seat belt buckles
Optional - Plastic Fix Lock is available. Can be used as an alternative to seat belt buckle for wheelchair users and to prevent children from opening the buckle as it is harder to release than the seat belt buckle.

Nylon, Cotton, Polyester, metal and plastic

COLOURS
Standard: Black.

WASHING
Belts can be machine washed at 40 degrees. Metal buckles must be removed prior to washing to avoid damage.

SAFETY
Any component of the belt system should always be used in the conjunction with the standard vehicle seat belt.

POINTS TO CONSIDER
A doctor`s letter is required when using this device. The letter needs to state that the user is exempt on medical grounds from using a standard seat belt. The letter must accompany the user at all times as it applies to all travel in a vehicle.


Models
Careva combination kit is available in 3 sizes:

small (3-7 years)
medium (7-14 years)
large (adult)


Method Of Use
First, place spinal belt around the car seat and secure it at the back of the seat. Adjust belt as needed.

Install shoulder harness, pelvic belt, thoracic belt or combi harness (shoulder harness & pelvic T-belt) in the grooves of the spinal belt.

Fasten buckles on the harnesses. Note: buckles are fastened on the sides of shoulder harness and in the front of combi harness.


Installation
Can be fitted in:
All vehicles with an opening between seat base and back.
Front and rear seats (except fixed back rear seats).
Child safety seats (forward facing) that have an opening between seat and back.
Wheelchairs with fixed back and opening between seat and backrest.
Can be fitted in conjunction with belt cushion
