Q`Straint QRT Retractable Wheelchair Restraint

Short Description
A wheelchair and occupant restraint system for use when transporting a wheelchair in a vehicle. It consists of four retractable tie downs to secure the wheelchair to the floor of the vehicle, and a lap belt to secure the occupant of the wheelchair. A range of floor mounting systems are available to suit all tracking systems on the market. Acccesories are available.

FEATURES:
The QRT system is compatible with Qstraint pocket style (slide n click) and Track style ( L Track and A track) anchorages.
There are 3 models of the QRT restraints (QRT Max, QRT Deluxe and QRT Standard) which all have different features.

QRT Max: a self-retracting and self-tensioning restraint. Restraints will automatically takes up slack if wheelchair moves during travel. No manual tightening is required, There is a positive locking indicator (indicates on the restraint when it is in the "locked position" and the tension release button can be operated with the foot. It has a low profile design to minimise interference with wheelchair footplates.
QRT Deluxe - self retracting and tensioning however a manual tensioning knob is also present (supplier states that there is no requirement for manual tensioning and that the knob is there as a "back up"). The design is higher profile and the tension release knob cannot be foot operated.
QRT Standard - self retracting but manually tensioned only.

All 3 models of restraints have the following features:
* retractors swivel to accomodate chairs of various widths.
* metal cover encloses belt when fully retracted.
* belts retract fully to prevent accidental tripping or soilage, cutting and fraying which could weaken the belt.
* retractors are interchangeable and can be used on front, back, left or right.
* lap belt attachments are located on the retractor case.

COMPONENTS: Four mounting attachment points are recessed into the floorpan of the vehicle. Four Q`Straint retractor belts and their housing which are removed when not in use and a lap belt that attaches to the retractor belt housing. Accessories are available.

METHOD OF USE: 1. Position wheelchair.
2. Press red knob on metal cover of retractor belt, so that belt can be extended freely.
3. Extend the belt, and secure the "J" hook around the wheelchair frame. As the belt is released it will automatically retract and lock into place.
4. Repeat using the other 3 retractor belts until the wheelchair is secured in four positions.
5. Fit the occupant restraint.

INSTALLATION: Queensland transport requires that modifications comply with the Australian Design Rules and the QT Code of Practice and that devices are installed to manufacturers instructions. Modifications must be performed by an authorised modifier. Major modifications must be approved by the Queensland transport vehicle safety and operations section or the approved person scheme. Once approved, a certificate of modification will be provided and issued with a modification plate. For further information regarding installation and approval requirements contact your local Queensland Transport customer service centre.

AREAS FOR USE: A minimum space required for installation is 800mm wide x 1200mm long x 1500mm high.

Wheelchair occupant must be facing the front of the vehicle. A typical van installation could include positioning opposite the side passenger door, and/or at the rear of the van in line with the driver, or in line with the passenger front seats.

COMMENTS: It is recommended that the product is used as a whole. Do not mix and match with other restraining systems.

SAFETY: The Restraints should be tensioned to form a 45 degree angle to the floor. Wheelchair restraints must be used in conjuction with an occupant restraint system. Restraint systems should be checked regularly for damage or wear. If there is evidence of any nicks or frays the restraints should be replaced. The restraints should be replaced immediately in the event that they are worn in a collision.

WARRANTY: All parts have a two year warranty.
