Short Description
The Unwin Rearlock Wheelchair Restraint System fixes a manual or powered wheelchair inside a vehicle from the rear by a restraining bar and two straps. The passenger is restrained by an additional lapbelt.

APPLICATION: TO RESTRAIN WHEELCHAIR:
. Position wheelchair in vehicle in front of rearlock.
. Lift rearlock bar to restraint position against backrest frame and adjust bar width if necessary.
. Attach and adjust two webbing straps to wheelchair frame. Push down tension lever to fully lock restraint.

COMMENTS: When not in use the total profile of the system is only 50mm allowing passengers to propel over the lock. According to NZ publication May 1993, the system exceeds the Australian Standard for restraints of this type.
