Short Description
Wheelchair accessible vehicles based on the Renault Kangoo which have lowered floors, electric wheelchair restraints and rear ramp entry. The Kangoo can transport up to 5 passengers (inc wheelchair user) whilst the Caddy can transport 6 non wheelchair users or 5 passengers (including a wheelchair user). Standard features include automatic transmission, air conditioning, power steering and CD player.

WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE FEATURES:
The vehicle floor is lowered to provide additional headspace for the wheelchair user
Rear barn doors with aluminium ramp for wheelchair rear entry. The ramp is gas assisted to raise and lower, and has slip resistant pads.
Retracting webbing belts are used to secure the front of the wheelchair in the vehicle. Hooks are located at the rear of the vehicle to prevent retracting belts from resting at the front of the van, and to allow the attendant to fit these outside the vehicle.
Rear attachment points generally use ratchet style restraints with buckles to secure it to the wheelchair.
A retractable shoulder sash seat belt is anchored to the rear of the vehicle.

Front Wheel Drive vehicle
6 speed automatic transmission
1.6 (Kangoo) or 1.9 (Caddy) litre engines.
Sliding doors both sides.
Standard features for both models include air conditioning, power steering, dual sliding doors, power windows and mirrors, roof rails, fog lights, lift up tailgate, CD player, Keyless entry, full size spare wheel, dual air bags, ABS brakes and emergency brake assist.
The Caddy model also includes cruise control as a standard feature.
Other options include colour coded bumpers and mirrors, electronic stabilisation program, side air bags and metallic or pearl paint.


Models
Two models available as follows
Kangoo - 1.6 litre vehicle. Standard seat layout provides for 3 passengers and a wheelchair user. There is an optional 4th seat for a passenger. Standard features include air conditioning, power steering, dual sliding doors, power windows and mirrors, roof rails, fog lights, lift up tailgate, CD player, Keyless entry, full size spare wheel, dual air bags, ABS brakes and emergency brake assist.

Caddy Life - a 1.9 litre vehicle. Standard seat layout provides for 4 passengers and wheelchair user seated at the rear of the vehicle. There are 2 removable seats which can be placed at the rear of the vehicle if the wheelchair user is not travelling. The Caddy has all the standard features of the Kangoo plus cruise control, additional headroom and more space between 2nd row seats.


Installation
Installation is completed at Fleetworks mobility workshop in Victoria. The Vehicle will be modified according to Queensland Transport Requirements and will be delivered to the owner with all modification certification and plates. The modification process may take several weeks. Please consult the supplier directly regarding waiting lists and specific timeframes for completion of modifications and delivery of vehicle.

Licence & Insurance Requirements
Queensland Transport requires that modifications comply with the Australian Design Rules and the QT Code of Practice and that devices are installed to manufacturer`s instructions. Modifications must be performed by an authorised modifier. Major modifications must be approved by the Queensland transport vehicle safety and operations section or the approved person scheme. Once approved, a certificate of modification will be provided and issued with a modification plate. For further information regarding installation and approval requirements contact your local Queensland Transport customer service centre.

To ensure Insurance cover, the vehicle owner should advise their Insurance company of the approved vehicle modifications.


Standards
For some types of equipment, specific Australian Standards are applicable to the materials used in, and the manufacturing and installation of products. Compliance with relevant Standards is indicated by written certification that a product has been tested and assessed as compliant with specified Australian Standards. Purchasers are advised to check with the supplier or manufacturer of an item as to its compliance with the relevant Australian Standard(s).
