Short Description
An external lifting device to transport scooters and some power wheelchairs on the back of a car. The Out-Sider Micro is designed for small 3 wheel scooters whilst the Meridian has platforms to suit scooters and power wheelchairs. A swingaway platform is optional. Both models require the user to manually fold/unfold the spring assisted platform. The device automatically lifts and lowers the scooter from ground level via power from either the vehicle`s battery or an optional power pack.
Caution
Queensland transport requires that modifications comply with the Australian Design Rules and the QT Code of Practice and that devices are installed to manufacturers instructions. Modifications must be performed by an authorised modifier. Major modifications must be approved by the Queensland transport vehicle safety and operations section or the approved person scheme. Once approved, a certificate of modification will be provided and issued with a modification plate. For further information regarding installation and approval requirements contact your local Queensland Transport customer service centre.
More Details
MATERIALS: Micro - steel platform with metallic black power coated finish.
Meridian - Aluminium platform with powder coated finish.
CONTROLS: Operated by a key to turn on and off and a control lever with rocker switch to raise or lower.
POWER: Standard: the device is powered by the vehicle battery.
Option: A separate power pack can be purchased to power the device.
FEATURES: Meridan features a drive on/drive off platform which can be approached from either side. The platform is perforated to reduce wind resistance when travelling with the platform folded.
The Meridan has an optional swing away design
OPERATION: Meridian - fully automatic fold/unfold and raise lower.
Micro - Gas spring assisted manual fold and unfold of platform. Automatic raise and lower.
PEOPLE USEFUL FOR: Meridian - Most 3 and 2 wheel scooters and some power wheelchairs.
Micro - 3 wheeled scooters.
SAFETY: Features an automatic emergency safety latch to prevent the platform from lowering.

Two models are available:
ASL-225 Out-Sider Micro
ASL-250 Out-Sider Meridian
The Meridian has a choice of two platform styles (3 piece or 1 piece). There is also a choice of 3-point retractable belt securement (for power wheelchairs) or a Hold-Tite foot (for scooters).
Options
Micro Model - one platform size only. The scooter is secured by EZ Tie down strap.
Meridian model - Adjustable 3 piece platform (for scooters or power chairs) featuring 5 mounting positions OR One piece platform (for scooters only).
Scooters are secured by a scooter hold tite foot.
For power chairs there is an options 3 point, colour coded self tensioning webbing style restraint with easy release tabs.
A swing away platform is also available as an option
Method Of Use
1. Turn unit on with key
2. For meridian model use hand held control to unfold the platform. For Micro model manually unfold the platform.
3. Use hand held control to lower platform to ground.
4. Position scooter or power wheelchair on platform and secure.
5. Use hand held control to raise the platform.
