Short Description
The Curb-Sider lift has been designed to lift a fully assembled scooter or power wheelchair (with seat folded) into a van, minivan, station wagon or utility. There are two models available. The devices are fully automated and designed to lift and place the scooter on the parallel kerb or driveway to allow more safe loading and unloading. There is a choice of attachment/docking devices depending on the design of the scooter or wheelchair being lifted.

CONTROLS: The Curbsider comes standard with a wireless remote control and an auxillary hand held pendant. The controllers have buttons to control up/down and in/out. The Curb-Sider Super XL3 also has a telescoping arm to assist with positioning the scooter or wheelchair in the vehicle. On this model, there is an additional button to control retract/extend.
The unit also has an On/Off power switch.
POWER: The Curb-Sider lift is electrically powered from the vehicle`s battery. Alternatively an optional power pack can be purchased. This plugs into the vehicle`s power outlet (cigarette lighter) and supplies power to the device independent of the vehicle battery.
FEATURES: The Curb-Sider provides a 180 degree powered rotation, which makes it possible to raise, lower and rotate a fully assembled scooter or power chair on the curb at the side of the vehicle, or directly behind it. The Curb-Sider's rotation feature makes it possible to stow scooters and power chairs in vehicles with tailgates.
INSTALLATION: The unit is installed internally in the boot of the vehicle. The lift arm can be folded vertically when not in use and installation does not require any structural modifications to the vehicle. A Custom Sub Base is recommended to allow a neater and easier installation.
AREAS FOR USE: Designed to fit most types of vans and minivans. Whilst the Curb Sider Super XL and the Super XL3 both have the same load capacity, the Curb Sider Super XL3 is the model most suited to situations where a large scooter or wheelchair needs to fit into a vehicle with sloped rear body design and wide bumpers which reduce the interior width. This is because it has the additional telescoping arm which retracts and extends to assist with positioning of the scooter or wheelchair inside the vehicle.

VSL-6000 Curb-Sider
VSL-6900 Curb-Sider SUV model
The VSL-6000 has an optional exterior pendant package to enable it to be fitted to a utility.
The VSL-6900 has an optional Telescoping Lift Head which provides additional extension to accommodate protruding bumpers.
Method Of Use
1. Connect the the C-arm to the T-bar on the scooter or connect the docking device to the power chair.
2. Push the lift belt button up to raise the scooter or power chair.
3. Push the swing in button to allow the motor to move the scooter or power chair inward.
4. Guide the scooter or power chair into the rear opening of the van and position it for storage. For the Curb-Sider, once the scooter is inside, lower it to the floor. It is recommended that the C-arm remains attached during travel to secure the scooter.

Caution
Queensland transport requires that modifications comply with the Australian Design Rules and the QT Code of Practice and that devices are installed to manufacturers instructions. Modifications must be performed by an authorised modifier. Major modifications must be approved by the Queensland transport vehicle safety and operations section or the approved person scheme. Once approved, a certificate of modification will be provided and issued with a modification plate. For further information regarding installation and approval requirements contact your local Queensland Transport customer service centre.
