Short Description
A roof mounted wheelchair carrier and winch with a fibreglass weatherproof cover. The winch lifts the wheelchair onto the roof and positions it on the bracket, then the cover slides closed. To unload, the cover slides open over the driver`s door and the winch lowers the chair. Powered by the car battery. Allows the wheelchair to be loaded and unloaded independently by the wheelchair user. The lifter can be mounted on a range of vehicles but is suited to manual folding wheelchairs only.

MATERIALS: Aluminium frame with ABS plastic cover.
POWER: the unit is powered by the vehicle battery. There is a manual release switch so that the wheelchair can be removed manually in the event of electrical failure.
CONTROLS: the unit is operated by a hand held control pendant with rocker switch.
FEATURES: the unit is installed on the roof of the vehicle. The wheelchair is attached by straps and can lift manual, folding wheelchairs only.

Method Of Use
1. Wheelchair user transfers from wheelchair to vehicle seat
2. Press switch on hand held control to lower winch
2. Attach winch to wheelchair
3. Press switch on hand held control to raise wheelchair to roof of vehicle and to deploy the chair cover.

Caution
Some wheelchair models are not compatible with the Chair Topper. In general the wheelchair must have a folded width of between 230 and 360 mm. Please consult the vehicle modifier to ensure the equipment is compatible with your vehicle and wheelchair prior to purchase.
Queensland transport requires that modifications comply with the Australian Design Rules and the QT Code of Practice and that devices are installed to manufacturers instructions. Modifications must be performed by an authorised modifier. Major modifications must be approved by the Queensland transport vehicle safety and operations section or the approved person scheme. Once approved, a certificate of modification will be provided and issued with a modification plate. For further information regarding installation and approval requirements contact your local Queensland Transport customer service centre.
