Short Description
A hydraulically powered wheelchair lift which is stored under the vehicle when not in use. It is designed to lift a person sitting in a powered or manual wheelchair into a vehicle. Suitable for installation in most full size vans.

MATERIALS: The hoist is made of steel with a slip resistant aluminium platform tread plate. The cartridge (which encases the platform when not in use) is made of high strength aluminium.
CONTROLS: A hand held four button pendant control operates the lift, raising the wheelchair occupant from ground level to floor level of the vehicle and back again.
OPERATION: The platform is fully automatic. The lift requires at least 12 volts to power it. It features a built in manual back up system. When not in use, the platform is stored underneath the vehicle in a high strength aluminium cartridge, which fully encloses the lift, protecting it from the weather and corrosive elements. There is a manual back up system for use in the event of vehicle electrical fault.
AREAS FOR USE: Due to the placement of the lift when stowed, this lift is mostly suitable for side entry only.
POINTS TO CONSIDER: To ensure insurance cover, the vehicle owner should advise their insurance company of the approved modifications.

Safety Features
The lifter has several safety features as follows:
Edge Barriers
Automatic Roll Stop - The barrier automatically locks into the "up" position before the lift will rise or lower. When the lift stops moving, the roll step folds down to form a ramp for getting on and off the platform.
A wheelchair and occupant restraint system must be installed when transporting a person in a wheelchair.
Installation
Queensland transport requires that modifications comply with the Australian Design Rules and the QT Code of Practice and that devices are installed to manufacturers instructions. Modifications must be performed by an authorised modifier. Major modifications must be approved by the Queensland transport vehicle safety and operations section or the approved person scheme. Once approved, a certificate of modification will be provided and issued with a modification plate. For further information regarding installation and approval requirements contact your local Queensland Transport customer service centre.
