Braun Millenium Series Wheelchair Lifter

Short Description
A hydraulic wheelchair lifter suitable for use in vans and buses. The platform stores inside the vehicle. The lifter can be fitted to rear doors of vans and either rear or side doors of larger commercial transport. The lifter is available in several platform lengths and lifting ranges.

More Details
MATERIALS: epoxy coated steel

METHOD OF OPERATION: fully automated raise, lower, fold and unfold. Stows inside the vehicle during transit.

POWER: Lifter is powered by the car battery. A separate power unit can be purchased an option. In the event of loss of power the lifter can be manually lowered and raised.

CONTROLS: hand held controller with rocker switches. One switch controls up and down movement, the other controls folding and unfolding. Standard control features also include an additional up/down switch mounted on the platform grab rails.

COMMENTS: Easy to see loading zones due to yellow markings.
The L955SE can be entered from either a straight or 45 degree angle allowing for awkward parking positions in shopping centres and other places where access may be difficult.

Safety Features
Once the `Up` button has been activated, the barrier (automatic roll stop) will rise to prevent the mobility device moving off the platform. The barrier will not de activate until the unit is on the ground. The 300mm barrier nearest the vehicle keeps the user`s feet away from vehicle bumper bars, etc. The platform also has bilateral side barriers and hand rails.

Remote control. Automatic door operation is also an option.

Installation
This product may be able to be installed at the rear or side door of the vehicle. Consideration must be given to the maximum height available at the doorway before ordering. The wheelchair lifter should be installed according to manufacturers direction by an authorised vehicle modifier.

Licence & Insurance Requirements
Queensland Transport requires that modifications comply with the Australian Design Rules and the QT Code of Practice and that devices are installed to manufacturer`s instructions. Modifications must be performed by an authorised modifier. Major modifications must be approved by the Queensland transport vehicle safety and operations section or the approved person scheme. Once approved, a certificate of modification will be provided and issued with a modification plate. For further information regarding installation and approval requirements contact your local Queensland Transport customer service centre.

To ensure Insurance cover, the vehicle owner should advise their Insurance company of the approved vehicle modifications.

Standards
Supplier reports compliance with ISO 9001:2000. Another applicable standard includes AS3856-1993.
