Short Description
A wheelchair lifter which is mounted inside the vehicle at the side door of vans and buses. Electro hydraulically operated with semi automatic or fully automatic options. Incorporates several safety design features. The user accesses the lifter, parallel with the vehicle and is then lifted and slowly swung to enter the vehicle. Considerations regarding head height and door width are necessary prior to installation of this lifter. Platform size can be customised.

MATERIALS: Plate steel with non slip surface.
CONTROLS: A variety of controls are available including i] Hand held/attendant. ii] External vehicle recessed mount with night time illumination. iii] Remote control which operates lift.
POWER: Runs directly from car battery.
FEATURES: i] The platform rotates to load parallel to the vehicle. ii] The platform expands as the wheelchair is loaded therefore suitable for a variety of wheelchair sizes and scooters. iii] Loads flat in the van which leaves access free. NB: There is a range of models within this series. Consult the supplier for the model to suit your vehicle.

Licence & Insurance Requirements
Queensland Transport requires that modifications comply with the Australian Design Rules and the QT Code of Practice and that devices are installed to manufacturer`s instructions. Modifications must be performed by an authorised modifier. Major modifications must be approved by the Queensland transport vehicle safety and operations section or the approved person scheme. Once approved, a certificate of modification will be provided and issued with a modification plate. For further information regarding installation and approval requirements contact your local Queensland Transport customer service centre.
To ensure Insurance cover, the vehicle owner should advise their Insurance company of the approved vehicle modifications.
