Short Description
A light weight aluminium and galvanised steel power step which attaches to the underneath of a vehicle to reduce the height of entry into the vehicle. The step is available in semi-automatic, electric or air operations.

MATERIALS: The step is made of light weight aluminium and galvanised steel.
ATTACHMENT: The step stores within a cassette which is fitted underneath the vehicle and as such there are minimal modifications required for installation. The step is supplied with a universal fixing kit. An Queensland Transport authorised modifier should install this piece of equipment.
FEATURES: The air and electric steps have safety features including built in auto obstruction detection (step will not deploy if an object is in it`s path of movement) and handbrake override ( so that the vehicle can not be driven with the step deployed). All models include a warning buzzer. There is an optional dashboard isolation switch for the electric and air models.
OPERATION: There are 3 options for method of operation as follows:
SEMI-AUTOMATIC - The step deploy and stow is controlled by a button control at the dashboard.
ELECTRIC - The step deploys automatically when the vehicle door opens and stows when the vehicle door is closed.
AIR - The step deploys and stows automatically and is powered by the vehicle`s compressor. This option is only available in vehicles with Glide-Rite air suspension is fitted.
Both the electricl and air models are available with a dashboard isolation switch so that the step deploy and stow can be controlled by a button (for example if the vehicle owner wanted the step to be stowed whilst the door was open).
INSTALLATION: Queensland Transport requires that modifications comply with the Australian Design Rules and the QT Code of Practice and that devices are installed to manufacturers instructions. Modifications must be performed by an authorised modifier. Major modifications must be approved by the Queensland Transport vehicle safety and operations section of the approved person scheme. Once approved, a certificate of mdoification will be provided and issued with a modification plate. For further information regading installation and approval requirements contact your local Queensland Transport customer service centre.
AREAS FOR USE: The step can be fitted to a wide range fo vehicles. The step assists people who have difficulty getting up into higher vehicles such as buses and vans to enter and exit the vehicle more easily and safely.
