Short Description
A hand operated accelerator and brake control for drivers who are unable to use the car pedals. The accelerator and brake functions are transmitted to a lever that is placed beside the driver`s seat.

COLOURS: Available in two variations: 1. Black knob with a grey cover; 2. Wood/Black knob with a grey cover.
FEATURES: An additional feature is the "hill holder" which keeps the vehicle still while the hand moves between the gear lever, or hand brake.
The hand control is fitted in conjunction with the car`s cruise control to avoid the need for constant acceleration when driving long distances. This function disconnects automatically when braking.
METHOD OF USE: Pull the lever backwards, and the car accelerates. Brake by pushing the lever forward. The "hill-holder" function is activated by a button on the side of the lever at the position of the thumb.
Carospeed E operates in the same manner as outlined above, plus the electrical regulators (windscreen washer, right and left indicators, headlights, horn) are fitted into a small joystick on the top surface of the lever.
COMMENTS: To make the steering easier with only one hand , a steering wheel knob can be fitted to the steering wheel.
A flip away armrest can be fitted to the car seat for the arm operating the Carospeed lever.
A removable brake pedal cover can be fitted to prevent feet from being trapped under the brake pedal during driving.
Models
There are three models available:
1. The Carospeed operates acceleration and braking of the car and can be incorporated into the car`s existing cruise control.
2. The Carospeed E operates acceleration and braking, with cruise control. In addition, it operates the windscreen wipers, indicators, headlights, and horn.
3. Carospeed T and TE: controls the same functions as Carospeed but instead of a lever style handle there is a choice of 2 different T grip handles.

Installation
A universal hand control that can be fitted to most vehicles with automatic transmission. It is fitted into the floor beside the driver`s seat. The cabling is secured behind carpets and panels. The vehicle can be restored to original if required.
Installation must be undertaken by an authorised technician.

Licence & Insurance Requirements
Queensland Transport must approve modifications to vehicles. Providing the modifications meet all requirements, a modification certificate and compliance plate will be issued and the cost of the permit may be waived for drivers with disabilities.
Drivers of the modified vehicles must have their Driver's Licence endorsed with a conditional code stating the necessary vehicle modification needed by the driver with a disability. In order for the licence to be endorsed, the applicant must bring a letter of medical clearance from a medical practitioner.

To ensure Insurance cover, the vehicle owner should advise their Insurance company of the approved vehicle modifications, and the endorsed Driver's Licence where the modifications are for the driver with a disability.
