Short Description
A powered seat that gives up to 90 degrees of swivel. It is adaptable to fit most seats. The seat will also move forward or backward and has height adjustment.

CONTROLS: The controls are located to the side of the seat and consist of three separate flick switches. All functions are independent.

OPERATION: An adaptation to a car seat which allows 90 degrees right and 80 degrees of left power swivel. Completely automatic rotation (left or right), with fingertip control. All functions are independent.

AREAS FOR USE: The power transfer seat is adaptable to fit most seats but may require the use of an after market seat in some cases. The seat is suitable for full size vans or any larger vehicle (buses etc).

PEOPLE USEFUL FOR: This seat is useful for wheelchair users who wish to drive a vehicle or sit in a vehicle seat but have difficulty transferring. The wheelchair user can approach the seat rotate it towards them and then transfer into the seat before rotating the seat back towards the front of the vehicle and then adjusting front/back and up/down as required. The ability to raise and lower the seat can also facilitate transfers to and from the wheelchair.

POINTS TO CONSIDER: To ensure insurance cover, the vehicle owner should advise their insurance company of the approved vehicle modifications.

SAFETY: A standard lap sash seat belt should be used when seated in the power transfer seat.


Installation
Queensland transport requires that modifications comply with the Australian Design Rules and the QT Code of Practice and that devices are installed to manufacturers instructions. Modifications must be performed by an authorised modifier. Major modifications must be approved by the Queensland transport vehicle safety and operations section or the approved person scheme. Once approved, a certificate of modification will be provided and issued with a modification plate. For further information regarding installation and approval requirements contact your local Queensland Transport customer service centre.
