Razorback SeatLift

Short Description
An hydraulic seat lift which is used to transfer the user into or out of people mover vehicles. The device swivels and slides out of the vehicle. It is then lowered to pavement level by pressing a button on a key ring transmitter. The device can be removed and refitted to other vehicles of a similar type.

FOOTPLATES: A footplate pulls out from under the seat to support the feet and legs whilst moving the user in or out of the vehicle.

CONTROLS: The seat lift and drop mechanism is operated via a button situated on the hydraulic unit near the seat. There are two buttons, one controls seat extend and lower, the other controls seat raise in retract.

METHOD OF USE: The seat must be manually rotated so that the seat is facing out of the vehicle. The controls are then used to automatically extend the seat out of the vehicle and lower to the ground. The reverse occurs when the passenger wishes to return to the vehicle.

AREAS FOR USE: The Razorback seat lift is able to be installed in most vans and buses which have sliding door entry to the passenger area. The seat cannot be fitted in the front passenger seat as the wheel arch blocks the trajectory of the seat movement. It can be fitted to some four wheel drive vehicles.

POINTS TO CONSIDER: Consult with the supplier regarding vehicles in suitable for installation of this device.
Can be removed and refitted to different vehicles of a similar type.

SAFETY: Refer to the supplier and manufacturer manual for maintenance instructions and safety warnings. A safety latch locks the seat in position and prevents from moving when it have been fully moved out of the vehicle.

Installation
Razorback mechanism is attached to the base of the existing chair where possible. Speak with the supplier regarding further installation requirements.

Queensland Transport requires that modifications comply with the Australian Design Rules and the QT Code of Practice and that devices are installed to manufacturers instructions. Modifications must be performed by an authorised modifier. Major modifications must be approved by the Queensland Transport vehicle safety and operations section of the approved person scheme. Once approved, a certificate of modification will be provided and issued with a modification plate. For further information regarding installation and approval requirements contact your local Queensland Transport customer service centre.
