Short Description
The Vulcan Wheel is an ergonomically designed, lightweight combined wheelrim and pushrim, extruded into a single-piece manual wheelchair wheel. The larger surface area of the handrim allows a more comfortable and stable grip by the entire palm, fingers and thumb for braking and self-propulsion. There is no gap between the pushrim and wheelrim, which eliminates the risk of wrist, finger and thumb injury. Suitable for use by athletes, particularly in basketball and tennis, to enhance performance.

> Reduced Trauma : There is no gap between the pushrim and wheelrim, which eliminates the risk of wrist, fingers and/or thumbs becoming caught between the handrim and wheel or in the spokes.

> Lightweight : there is no welding, bolts or bracing between rims.

OPTIONS: To further enhance the user features of the Vulcan Wheel two models of rubber grip are available.

1) The Vulcan "Groove" : a narrow rubber band which allows the thumb to better grip the push rim whilst still allowing conventional breaking. It is ideal for people with full hand mobility.

2) The Vulcan "Mobility" is a wider rubber band that covers the upper surface and allows the thumb and palm to better contact the push rim. This model is ideal for people with limited hand movement who require additional grip.
