J2 Cushion

Short Description
A cushion with a contoured foam base and Jay flow fluid overlay with stretch cover which is suitable for a person at high risk of developing pressure areas. It is available in ten sizes and may be customised. A range of postural inserts are available to further individualise the support.

More Details
MATERIALS: Base: lightweight, moulded, moisture resistant and closed cell foam base with a slip resistant base and hook and loop strips to secure the overlay. The base supports and stabilises the pelvis.
J2 Fluid Pad overlay: Jay flow fluid and soft contoured foam. The Jay flow has no memory, requires no maintenance, maintains viscosity at high and low temperatures and provides maximum contact to reduce pressures, accommodates different body types and results in reduced chance of bottoming out, pressure sores and shearing on the skin.

COVER: Slip on cover with front handle. Stretch material of durable ballistic cloth.
Options: Air Exchange version to reduce sweating or an Incontinent Resistant cover.

CUSTOMISED FEATURES: The moulded foam base is easy to cut to meet special needs.
Jay Medical will do free modifications including: shortening, narrowing less than 5cm, leg troughs, notching for dropped solid seat, and leg length discrepancy cuts. Other modifications are available.

APPLICATION: The supplier states that the cushion is appropriate for a person at high risk of developing pressure areas

POINTS TO CONSIDER: The J2 requires minimal adjustment, virtually no maintenance, and has labels "Front" and "Back" so the fluid pads are correctly positioned under the persons buttocks.
When determining the size required seat the person on a solid surface and measure the width from the widest point and the depth from the rear most point of the client to two finger widths before the back of the knee. Also measure the width between greater trochanter.

WARRANTY: Two years

Models
One model only available in ten sizes and may be customised.

Options
Standard cushion includes foam base, overlay and cover.

Options: Air exchange or incontinence covers, solid seat insert (lightweight honeycomb board inside a sealed slip resistant cover).

Accessories can be added from the Jay Accessories Box (adductor wedges, obliquity build ups, abductor wedges, hip guides, base wedge) to provide improved postural support as well as fluid supplements if the client is "bottoming out".
