Coccyx Wedge Pillow Cushion

Short Description
A wedge shaped foam cushion with a cut out under the coccyx area designed to give relief to people who have pain in the coccyx or lower region of the spine. Available in small and large sizes.

Price Guide
Refer to supplier details for pricing.

More Details
MATERIALS: The cushion is constructed from high quality, high resilience foam designed for long life. The cover is synthetic tweed with a zip fastener.

COLOURS: Available in blue or brown.

APPLICATION: The risk group for which the cushion is appropriate has not been stated by the supplier.
Useful for people who have pain in the coccyx or lower region of the spine.

POINTS TO CONSIDER: The wedge shape transfers the person's weight forward and the cut out minimises pressure on the coccyx area. Although the cushion is designed for use on a seat, it could also be used as a backrest: This would provide pressure relief to the lower spine area. It would shorten the seat depth of the chair and allow a more reclined posture.

Caution
All cushions must be monitored to prevent 'bottoming out'. This occurs when the user's weight bears down so hard on the product material that it is flattened and the bony parts are pressed against the surface below the cushion. Where bottoming out occurs even with correct use (eg correct choice and depth of foam) , a different product may need to be considered.

Compliance with relevant Standards is indicated by written certification that a product has been tested and assessed as compliant with specified Australian Standards. Purchasers are advised to check with the supplier or manufacturer of an item as to its compliance with the relevant Australian Standard(s).
