Features
MATERIALS: steel power base with plastic shroud cover. Seating is metal with foam and fabric upholstery cover. Shroud colours include black, blue, red, champagne, blue marble, pink carbon and yellow carbon.
WHEELS: Mid wheel drive. 10' pneumatic drive wheel as standard. Option of solid insert. 6' solid front castor. 4' solid rear castor. Option rear anti tippers.
BRAKES: Electromagnetic with additional manual wheel locks.
TRANSPORT: Power base is supplied with 4 point transit package as standard (including tie down locations and wheel locks). A manual dependent base is available as an option. This is a lighter weight manual wheelchair base which is easier to transport and also to propel by an attendant.
SEATING: Zippie TS adjustable rehab seat frame as standard. Options include solid seat, seat pan or omit seat for use with Jay or other after market seating systems). Option of manual tilt (30 degrees). Available in 4 seat to floor height settings and 5 seat angle settings.
BACKREST: Zippie TS seating as standard. Option of short, medium or tall solid back or of omitting the backrest for use with Jay or other after market seating systems.
ARMRESTS: Fixed height padded waterfall armrests in desk or full length as standard. Options include adjustable locking flip up, single post height adjustable in paediatric, kids or adult size. Armrests can also be omitted.
HANDLES: Option of standard, medium or tall stroller handle back post. Other options include removable stroller handle extension or height adjustable back with adjustable stroller handles.
LEGRESTS: Legrests are either hanger mounted or extension tube mounted.
Options for hanger mounted include 70, 80 or 90 swing away front mount. Also available in heavy duty lift off in the same angles. Elevating footrests are also an options as are hanger extensions.
Options for extension tube - short, medium, long or high mount. Hangers can be 60 or 70 degrees swing away, articulating or elevating.
FOOTPLATES: Depending on hangar choice, footrest options include angle adjustable, single footboard, flip up platform or aluminium foot plate.
HEADREST: 2 different size headrests available as an options
CONTROLS: quickie rehab (QR-3) electronics. Standard control consists of joystick, LCD display unit and 3 buttons with infrared capacity. Controls can be customised by programming to show icons versus words. Also available with 2 stereo jacks and additional on/off mode switch and speed at no additional charge. Various mounting options and additional controls for attendant control available.
BATTERIES: 50 amp hour gel batteries.
ACCESSORIES: heel loop, single leg strap, toe loop, neoprene impact guard, Zippie back pack, touch up paint, tray table, caddy, seat pouch, positioning belts (padded side squeeze, aircraft buckle, auto buckle with clamps).
Short Description
A paediatric, mid wheel drive, battery powered wheelchair suitable for indoor and outdoor use. The chair consists of the Guardian Aspire M11 base with Zippie TS seat systems. The seating is expandable to accommodate growth of the child. A manual dependent base to facilitate easier transport of the wheelchair is also available. The wheelchair is available in several sizes and numerous other options and accessories are also available.
Additional Information
The motorized wheelchair is to be used only by the registered operator who:
1) Has a doctor's certificate stating that due to movement impairment they have a need to use the wheelchair for assisted travel.
2) Is capable of safely operating the wheelchair.
3) Will abide by the Queensland road rules.
More Details
This wheelchair has an epoxy coated steel frame. It is mid wheel drive and thus suitable for indoor use where a tight turning circle is needed. It is also suitable for outdoor use. There are several different seating options available in a range of sizes. Power options including seat tilt and elevating leg rests are also available.
The controller is fully programmable and the standard control features on / off and mode switches, proportional joystick, battery charge indicator, and speed control. An enhanced display unit is available and the controls can also function as an environmental control device with the use of radio frequency receivers.
To facilitate transportation a manual dependent base is available. The seat can be removed from the power base and placed on the manual attendant propelled base.

Licence & Insurance Requirements
A license is not required for a rider in an exempt motor chair (electric wheelchair) which is limited to a maximum speed of 10km/h. The rider of the wheelchair is considered a pedestrian and road rules apply as for pedestrians.
All motorized wheelchairs need to be registered. This also includes wheelchairs that use the footpath, cross roads or drive on the side of the road where the footpath is unsuitable. Motorized wheelchairs may be registered to an individual or to an organization. In the instance of a paediatric client using a powered wheelchair the client's parent/guardian would be required to register the wheelchair on behalf of the client. Organizations registering motorized wheelchairs may include nursing homes, shopping centers, education institutions and hire companies. A motorized wheelchair must be registered to be eligible for third party insurance which is optional. There are no fees for registration or compulsory third party (CTP) insurance for motorized wheelchairs.
When registering a motorized wheelchair for the first time, the applicant must provide a doctor`s letter/certificate/statement stating that due to severe movement impairment they need the use of a motorized wheelchair for assisted travel. A doctor's certificate/letter/statement must be provided each time a different motorized wheelchair is registered.
