Superlight Scooter

Short Description
An Israeli made lightweight scooter suitable for indoors use. Available in a three wheeled model only. Has finger operated controls. Dismantles for transportation. A range of accessories is available.

Additional Information
The motorized scooter is to be used only by the registered operator who:
1) Has a doctors certificate stating that due to movement impairment they have a need to use the scooter for assisted travel.
2) Is capable of safely operating the wheelchair.
3) Will abide by the Queensland road rules.

More Details
FRAME: Steel construction with plastic bodywork to cover the motor and batteries. The footrest is covered with a slip resistant matting.

SEAT: Desk style chair with lift up arms. Has lift off seat which is adjustable backwards and forwards and swivels through 360 degrees, locking at 45 degree intervals. The seat has padded, lift back armrests and a fold down backrest.

CONTROLS: Key switch located midway down the tiller, just above the front wheel. Flat, rocker style, finger operated controls for acceleration and reverse function. Two speed selector positions for acceleration. Battery indicator.

BATTERIES: 2 x 12V 15amp sealed batteries are located under the seat beneath removable plastic covers. A 24V automatic electronic recharger is provided.

CHARGER: Plugs in to side of tiller.

WHEELS: REAR WHEELS Pneumatic 250mm (10") diameter.
FRONT WHEEL Solid 250mm (10") diameter.

BRAKES: Brakes are electromagnetic brakes with progressive braking applied as acceleration lever is released.

FEATURES: Light on front of tiller and basket at rear.

TRANSPORTATION: The scooter can be dismantled into six component parts without the use of tools and stored in the boot of most small cars. The seat lifts off, the tiller separates from the base, the batteries and battery cover are removed, leaving the base. When dismantled the heaviest component weighs 10.3kgs

POINTS TO CONSIDER: The space allowed on public transport for carrying mobility equipment is an area of 800mm x 1300mm.

MAINTENANCE: All scooters require regular maintenance. Refer to User Manual for specific details.

Licence & Insurance Requirements
A licence is not required for a rider in an exempt motor chair (electric wheelchair or scooter) which is limited to a maximum speed of 10km/h. The rider of the scooter is considered a pedestrian and road rules apply as for pedestrians.

All motorized scooters need to be registered. This also includes scooters that use the footpath, cross roads or drive on the side of the road where the footpath is unsuitable.
A scooter must be registered to be eligible for third party insurance which is optional.
