Afikim Caddy Three Wheeled Scooter

Short Description
A battery powered, aluminimum scooter with finger operated controls. Available in a three wheeled model only. It comes standard with or without armrests. Also supplied with batteries, bright headlight and tail lights, can holder, and rear wire basket. The scooter can be folded or dismantled into two parts [plus batteries] for transportation.

Additional Information
The motorized scooter is to be used only by the registered operator who:
1) Has a doctors certificate stating that due to movement impairment they have a need to use the scooter for assisted travel.
2) Is capable of safely operating the wheelchair.
3) Will abide by the Queensland road rules.


More Details
FRAME: Aluminium alloy frame with plastic cowlings.

UPHOLSTERY: Padded vinyl seat and backrest.

SEAT: Padded vinyl seat. Not adjustable.

BACKREST: Low, padded vinyl backrest that folds forward for transportation.

ARMRESTS: Available with or with out lift- up armrests.

CONTROLS: Features two forward speeds, two reverse speeds, and battery LED indicator on the tiller.

MOTORS: Unknown.


BATTERIES: Standard: 2 x 12 Volt 12 Ah. Two removable 12 v batteries are situated under the seat. Separate battery charger - plugs into standard domestic 10 amp outlet.
Options: 2 x 12 Volt 17 Ah.

WHEELS: Standard: Pneumatic tyres [10 x 2" front and rear]
Options: Solid tyres


DISMANTLING: Can be folded and stored vertically or dismantled for transportation. Unplug batteries, fold the seat down, lift off front wheel tiller section and if required, remove the rear wheels.


POINTS TO CONSIDER: The space allowed on public transport for carrying mobility equipment is an area of 1300mm x 800mm.
Rear wire basket: clips on behind seat and has 10kg capacity

MAINTENANCE: All scooters require regular maintenance. Refer to User Manual for specific details.

WARRANTY: Two years.

Licence & Insurance Requirements
A licence is not required for a rider in an exempt motor chair (electric wheelchair or scooter) which is limited to a maximum speed of 10km/h. The rider of the scooter is considered a pedestrian and road rules apply as for pedestrians.

All motorized scooters need to be registered. This also includes scooters that use the footpath, cross roads or drive on the side of the road where the footpath is unsuitable.
A scooter must be registered to be eligible for third party insurance which is optional.
