S500 Powered Four Wheel Scooter

Short Description
A four wheeled powered scooter of medium size designed primarily for outdoor use but also applicable indoors. The Scooter has a contoured upholstered seat with a headrest that is height adjustable and has forward and backward slide adjustment. This scooter features independent front and rear suspension, electronic stability control and a compact wheelbase design for manoeuvrability in tight spaces. Suitable for adults. A range of accessories are available.

Additional Information
The motorized scooter is to be used only by the registered operator who:
1) Has a doctors certificate stating that due to movement impairment they have a need to use the scooter for assisted travel.
2) Is capable of safely operating the wheelchair.
3) Will abide by the Queensland road rules.

FRAME: Standard : a compact short wheel base for tight manouvrability. Independent front suspension and Active link rear suspension. The tiller is angle adjustable.

SEAT: Standard : A contoured, padded seat that is height adjustable and has forward/backward slide adjustment. The seat has 360 degrees swivel that will allow for ease of transferring from the side.

BACKREST: Standard : Contoured, padded fixed height backrest that provides full back support and a head rest. The backrest is angle adjustable to 12 positions. Folds down for transport.

Licence & Insurance Requirements
A licence is not required for a rider in an exempt motor chair (electric wheelchair or scooter) which is limited to a maximum speed of 10km/h. The rider of the scooter is considered a pedestrian and road rules apply as for pedestrians.

All motorized scooters need to be registered. This also includes scooters that use the footpath, cross roads or drive on the side of the road where the footpath is unsuitable.
A scooter must be registered to be eligible for third party insurance which is optional.
