Short Description
A large, high powered scooter with large wheels providing for more ground clearance. This scooter has a longer wheel base and front and rear suspension which improves overall comfort. Designed primarily for outdoor use it is available in three wheeled or four wheeled models. It features thumb operated controls, and is available in two colours. It comes with a high back seat with adjustable headrest. Seat height, seat position and backrest angle are all adjustable. A range of options and accessories are available.
Additional Information
The motorized scooter is to be used only by the registered operator who:
1) Has a doctors certificate stating that due to movement impairment they have a need to use the scooter for assisted travel.
2) Is capable of safely operating the wheelchair.
3) Will abide by the Queensland road rules.
More Details
FRAME: Epoxy coated steel frame. Delta Tiller (curved handlebars) is standard and can be finger or thumb operated. The tiller angle is adjustable. Locking front basket is attached to the front tiller. Rear vision mirrors are standard.
UPHOLSTERY: Padded vinyl upholstery.
SEAT: Standard: Large Captain seat with high back and headrest. Backrest angle is adjustable. The seat rotates 360 degrees via a lever under the seat. The lever is pulled up towards the seat to release the lock.
The seat also includes a forward/backward slide adjustment lever, also located under the seat, which allows fitting of the seat to handlebar/tiller distance for different size people.
BACKREST: high back backrest with an adjustable headrest is standard.
ARMRESTS: Lift up armrests, adjustable in height and width.
WHEELS: Front: 260mm diameter on the 3 wheeled scooter and 285mm diameter on the 4 wheeled scooter.
Rear: 320mm diameter on both the 3 and 4 wheeled scooters. Grey pneumatic tyres are standard.
CONTROLS: Touch pad instrument panel including a speed control knob with fast and slow indicators, illuminated display for battery status and a key operated power switch. The controls can be programmed for speed, braking and acceleration.
BATTERIES: Two x 12 volt 34 amp hour gel batteries. Batteries are stored in separate fibreglass boxes under the seat.
CHARGER: Battery charging is achieved by connecting the charger provided to a mains power point and plugging it into the scooter at the marked charging terminal on the tiller.
MOTOR:1.3 horsepower
TRANSPORTATION or DISMANTLING: Remove the seat and batteries and fold the tiller flat.
BRAKES: Electromagnetic brakes and manual hand brake are standard.
FREEWHEELING: Freewheeling mechanism is operated by a lever located above the right back wheel.
POINTS TO CONSIDER: The space allowed on public transport for carrying mobility equipment is an area of 800mm x 1300mm.
WARRANTY: Free service at 6 months. Standard warranty is 12 months. Warranty extended to parts only for 2 years, if the scooter is serviced by Mobile Independence, the authorised service provider, at 6 monthly intervals.

Licence & Insurance Requirements
A licence is not required for a rider in an exempt motor chair (electric wheelchair or scooter) which is limited to a maximum speed of 10km/h. The rider of the scooter is considered a pedestrian and road rules apply as for pedestrians.
All motorized scooters need to be registered. This also includes scooters that use the footpath, cross roads or drive on the side of the road where the footpath is unsuitable.
A scooter must be registered to be eligible for third party insurance which is optional.
