More Details
MATERIALS: The drive wheel is made of solid high-grip rubber that has a carrying handle attached to allow for simple lift-off.

CONTROLS: The control unit allows the user to raise and lower the drive wheel, drive forwards and backwards and alter speed. The speed of the unit can be pre-selected by the user. The control unit has a drive lever and a battery indicator.

PROGRAMMING: The electronic speed regulator permits a uniform walking speed regardless of the terrain.

BATTERIES: Depending on the terrain and the weight of the user, the standard distance to be covered by this fully charged battery is 20kms. A 12volt charging cable is available as an accessory for charging the battery from the car.

BRAKES: A spring system set of brakes is attached to the drive unit and exists to increase ease of braking.

MOUNT: Two brackets exist on either wheel which allows the viamobil (battery pack and drive unit) to be quickly released and applied. The viamobil can be removed to revert the wheelchair to a standard manual chair or to apply other mobility devices such as the Scalamobil.

AREAS FOR USE: Gradients and slopes of up to 18 degrees can be negotiated, and long gradients and kerb stones can be overcome without undue stress upon the carer.
