Short Description
This unit is fitted between the seat and base of a powered wheelchair. It acts as a scissor lift, lifting the seat straight upwards when the control lever is pushed. This lifts the seated person vertically by approximately 240mm. The user can then reach items previously out of reach such as kitchen cupboards, shelves, filing cabinet, shop counters.

CONTROLS: A small control box is fitted to the front of the wheelchair armrest. There is a small lever which is pushed one way for up and the other way for down. It is powered by the wheelchair's batteries.
RANGE: The lifting range is approximately 240mm above the original height of the seat.
CUSTOMISED FEATURES: This unit is made to suit the user's wheelchair.
COMMENTS: When the seat is elevated, the wheelchair drive motor cuts out preventing the user from driving the wheelchair while elevated - this is for safety reasons as the wheelchair would not be stable enough to drive safely with the seat elevated. This unit has been fitted to a Glide 6 powered wheelchair, but could be fitted to other powered wheelchairs and also to manual wheelchairs on request.
