Short Description
LEVO active-easy LAE is a lightweight manually propelled and manually operated wheelchair that moves from sitting to standing, and allows the user to be supported in a standing position. The wheelchair can be propelled and operated manually or may be fitted with power assisted units. Suitable for individuals with impaired mobility and good upper limb function, but who are unable to stand independently. The wheelchair features easy handling, gas spring support, adjustable backrest and seat, and a two-piece flip-up footplate. Available in Medium Large and X Large Sizes.

FRAME: Standard : Manual stand-up frame.
Options : Anti-tip bars; Push handles
COLOURS: A wide range of colours are available including black, violet, or turquoise upholstery.
SEAT: Standard : The seat frame is height- and angle-adjustable. Accommodates seating and positioning devices.
Options : Seat cushion
BACKREST: Standard : Angle adjustable and folds down for transportation. Accommodates positioning devices
Options : Backrest cushion
LEGRESTS: Standard : adjustable tibia supports secure around the lower leg and provide support and stability to the tibia just below the knee.
FOOTPLATES: Standard : Two-piece height- and angle-adjustable stand-up footrests with knee supports.
Options : Foot guide
WHEELS: Standard : Quick-release rear wheels in violet, black, and turquoise. The rear wheel axle is fully adjustable to provide ease of propulsion and stability.
CASTORS: Standard : Front quick-release castors in violet, turquoise, or black.
BRAKES: Options : Brake lever extensions; Hub brake
FEATURES: Drives like a normal powered wheelchair
Stand Up mechanism is gas-spring supported
METHOD OF USE: The feet are placed on the footplate (s)
An adjustable knee support is secured across the legs just below the patella
A chest support is loosely secured across the chest
Standing is operated by calliper hand sets accompanied by a ratchet system while standing,
Gas damper springs raise the seat slowly, smoothly and silently until the user is inj the upright position. The springs are matched to user weight. The user has total control and is able to stop in any position.
TRANSPORTATION: For ease of transportation : quick-release rear wheels; detachable castor forks and footplates.
OPTIONS: The "Compact" LEVO stand-up wheelchair is suitable or all those unable to stand on their own who need a manoeuvrable indoor power wheelchair. For example for spinal cord injury, spina bifida, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, etc.

APPLICATION: The LEVO active-easy LAE is suitable for all active wheelchair users who are unable to stand up on their own but who have good finger and arm control, such as e.g. paraplegia.
Promotes greater independence and quality of life by providing opportunity for the wheelchair user to work, socialise and enjoy leisure pursuits standing up in a supported and stable position.
Opportunity to achieve short periods of time in standing position during the day, can provide the following benefits to the appropriate wheelchair user :

Improved circulation to skin, tissues and muscles of lower extremities.
Helps reduce muscle spasms and contractions
Helps reduce atrophy of lower limb muscles and improves muscle tone

Helps reduce swilling in lower extremities
Helps to improve joint range of motion
Promotes more efficient cardiovascular activity
Builds standing endurance
Helps reduce infection by helping kidney and bladder function
Can improve bowel regularity and function.
Encourages complete bladder drainage
Reduce the number daily number of transfers.
CONTRAINDICATION'S : Not recommended for people with the following conditions:
Orthostatic or Cardiac Problems
Brittle Bones
Serious Orthopaedic Disorders
Fixed Hip and Knee Flexion of more than 20 degrees
COMMENTS: It is recommended that this wheelchair is prescribed in conjunction with a physiotherapist or medical practitioner.
Before using the Life Stand on a daily basis, it is recommended that it be introduced in accordance with a physiotherapy movement program to gradually accustom the body to the standing position.
MAINTENANCE: All wheelchairs require regular maintenance. Refer to User Manual for specific details.
