Short Description
A manual wheelchair with a folding stainless steel frame. It is self propelled using a rear wheel drive or one arm drive and is suitable for children. The wheelchair is available in a number of seat widths and has a single axle position. There is a choice of armrests. A range of accessories is available. Can be customised.

FRAME: Standard: Folding frame made from stainless steel. Based on the Glide 3 frame. Single cross brace. Lock out mechanism. Tipping levers to assist with kerb mounting.
Options: Anti tip bars with rollers.
UPHOLSTERY: Standard: Padded heavy duty vinyl.
COLOURS: Available in red, blue, yellow, black, pink and lime green. Colour is included in cost as standard.
SEAT: Standard: Slung style. Bambino has three seat widths and three seat depths. Cadet has two seat widths and two seat depths.
Options: Special seating systems, removable cushioned solid seat.
BACKREST: Standard: Slung style. Peg style push handles.
Options: Backrest height and backrest angle can be customised, backrest extension, removable cushioned solid back, upholstery tightener, extended push handles.
ARMRESTS: Standard: Full length, vinyl padded removable armrests. Fixed height.
Options: Desk arms, adjustable height armrests, armrest troughs.
LEGRESTS: Standard: Bambino has outriggers which are fixed. Cadet has swing away legrests.
Options: Elevating legrests, stump support, calf strap.
FOOTPLATES: Standard: Bambino has adjustable height lift up footplates mounted vertically above splayed front castors (at 90 degrees) for transfers. Cadet has lift up footplates mounted in front of the front castors like most folding wheelchairs.
Options: One piece lift up footplate, heel loops.
WHEELS: Standard: Pneumatic tyres. Stainless steel push rims.
Options: Solid tyres, puncture resistant tyres, spoke guards, capstan push rims, quick release wheels.
CASTORS: Standard: Castors in splayed position. Microcellular.
Options: Pneumatic castors.
BRAKES: Standard: Toggle brakes operated with a lever. Push to lock.
Options: Brake lever extension.
ONE ARM DRIVE: The type of one arm drive mechanism which is available with this wheelchair is called a twin rim. The driving wheels are linked so that either wheel or both can be controlled from a dual set of push rims which are positioned on one wheel only. One push rim has a slightly smaller diameter than the other and is positioned on the outside of the larger push rim. When one push rim is moved independently of the other, only one wheel is driven and will cause the wheelchair to turn. (The outer push rim controls the wheel on the opposite side. The inner push rim controls the wheel on the same side). When both push rims are moved together, both large wheels are driven simultaneously and the wheelchair will move forward.
CUSTOMISED FEATURES: Seat width, backrest angle and backrest height can be customised.
MAINTENANCE: All wheelchairs require regular maintenance. Refer to User Manual for specific details.

Two models are available:
1. Bambino. The Bambino has footplates on fixed outriggers which are sufficiently stable to allow the child to step onto the footplates for transfers.
2. Cadet The Cadet has swing away legrests and is also available as a one arm drive wheelchair.
