Short Description
The Otto Bock Bravo Racer is a rear wheel drive, self propelled wheelchair with an aluminium frame for use by an active child or adolescent. The seat width and depth are adjustable to accommodate user growth. The backrest can be folded down. The wheelchair comes in various designs and a range of options and accessories are available.
More Details
Frame
The powder coated, aluminium frame is rigid and adjustable for growth. Optional rear anti tip bars with rollers are removable and can be folded in or out. Tipping levers are also optional.
Adjustment
50mm of seat depth growth and 20mm of seat width growth is with a available with a growth kit.
Seat
A slung style seat is standard. Tension adjustable seat upholstery is optional. A foam cushion with cover comes standard in 30 or 50mm thickness. An optional evolight cushion is available (60mm thick). The wheelchair is available in nine seat widths and eight seat depths. Seat fall (squeeze frame) is available.
Upholstery
The upholstery is nylon and available in black, blue or red.
Backrest
The standard backrest is padded. A breathable backrest or spacer fabric is optional. Nine backrest heights are available. The backrest can be unlocked and folded down onto the seat (optional). Short or long, fixed push handles are standard. Straight or angled, height adjustable push handles, or a push bar with a hand grip are optional. The backrest cannot fold down with the push bar option. The backrest is angle adjustable.
Armrests
Full length, height adjustable, removable armrests are optional.
Plastic clothing guards are standard. Designer clothing guards are available in orange, blue or red.
Legrest
A fixed, height adjustable, single legrest unit is standard.
Footplate
The footplate is a one piece, aluminium platform that is angle and depth adjustable. The manufacturer advises that is can be used as a step for the user to get in and out of the wheelchair. Adjustable, lateral heel blocks are optional.
Wheels
Pneumatic rear tyres with diameter 1 3/8" are standard with 20" wheels. Schwalbe RightRun tyres (fine tread, high pressure, pneumatic tyres, 1" diameter) are available in black, light blue or light red as standard. Schwalbe HS228 with course tread is also available. Schwalbe Marathon Plus Evolution (1" diameter) puncture proof tyres are optional. The rear wheels are quick release and available in 20", 22" or 24" diameter.
Black coated or silver anodized, aluminium push rims are standard (high or low options available). Hollow and ultra light push rims are available. Rubber coated, stainless steel polished or titanium polished push rims are optional. The push rim can be mounted in a wide or narrow position. Spoke protectors are optional in a range of patterns, including transparent, eye catcher, flower power, clown, fire and gecko.
Three or six degrees of camber is available with 20" wheels. Three, six or nine degrees of camber are available with 22" and 24" wheels. A wheelbase extension is optional. Multiaxle wheel positions are possible.
Castors
Solid rubber (4, 5, or 6"), soft rubber (5.5") or 6 inch pneumatic castors are standard. Luminous castors (3 or 4", with self-charging LEDs) and designer castors (4 or 5") are optional.
Customisation
Some features can be customised.
Colours
The frame is available in the following colours: Sparkle Light Orange, Snake Clear Red, Candy Red, Dormant Marine Blue, Dormant Apple Green, Clear Reptile Glossy, Brilliant Silver, Dormant Vinho Sparkle, Spooky Yellow (glows in dark), Spooky Blue (glows in dark) and Gecko style.
Headrest
A range of Otto Bock headrest options are available.
Brakes
The standard brakes are push on, lever style with a non-slip cover. Attendant brakes are optional except with push bar option.
