Short Description
An adjustable restraint designed to support the upper body of a person whilst they are sitting in a chair, wheelchair or vehicle seat.

FEATURES: 1) A 50mm wide webbing strap encircles the backrest of the chair, it has a plastic side release buckle.
2) Two x 25mm wide webbing straps attached to the top of the backrest to suspend the chest strap at the required height in relation to the chair. Each strap has a plastic release buckle.
3) A 75mm wide reinforced canvas band with a lapped velcro closure encircles the person’s chest (eg at midriff level). A webbing loop at the end of the strap improves ease of grasping the velcro.
4) Two x 50mm shoulder straps suspend the chest strap at the required height in relation to the person. Each has a plastic side release buckle and also velcros flat directly onto the chest strap.

METHOD OF USE: Attach components 1 and 2 to the chair. Wrap component 3 (chest strap) around the person's chest, then position component 4 (shoulder straps) in a comfortable position. Webbing straps can be cut to the length required and the end sealed with heat (eg cigarette lighter).

PEOPLE USEFUL FOR: Suitable for both men and women.

COMMENTS: If the chest restraint is used when travelling in a vehicle the standard vehicle seat belt MUST be used as well.
Can be left in place on the chair or wheelchair when not in use

SAFETY: In an emergency, velcro closures on chest and shoulder straps enable quick release from the restraint.
