Short Description
A hammock style bed designed for infants up to 12 months of age. It consists of a steel frame and a fabric hammock which is suspended from the frame via a spring and cross bar. Available in one size only

MATERIALS: The frame is made of white powder coated steel. The hammock consists of a fully quilted mattress and machine washable poly/cotton bed.
HAMMOCKS: Available in white, blue or raw cotton.
METHOD OF USE: The foot end of the hammock has clips or zips which are undone to allow better access. The baby is placed in head first and positioned on their back (or side) so the head is higher than their feet. The clips are then done up for safety. The manufacturer states that the up/down motion of the unit replicates movements similar to those of the baby when in the womb and hence is comforting, and that the physical contact, enclosure and rhythmic movement is good for the new baby.
ASSEMBLY: Quick and relatively easy. No tools are required once the self locking nut which holds the spring has been installed (the supplier says that he will install this if required). Six push button pins lock the frame into place (six pieces) and the spring is held to the top by the nut. The hammock is then linked to the spring and an extra safety strap is secured so the hammock will not fall from the frame.
APPLICATION: Recommended for babies from birth to twelve months or more.
COMMENTS: The vertical movement and head position being higher than feet can assist babies to sleep eg babies with colic or reflux.
The push buttons which are used to dis/assemble the frame may be difficult for some parents, particularly if they want to transport the frame a lot.
Models
One model only is available with either a standard or heavy duty spring. The standard spring is suitable for infants weighing up to 12kg. The heavy duty spring is suitable for infants weighing up to 20kg.
