Short Description
The MSS Softform Premier Active mattress features an alternating air insert beneath a castellated foam insert of the mattress.
The mattress may be used as a static foam mattress, or can be converted into an alternating surface by fitting an electrically operated pump to the air insert.
Appropriate for people at high risk of developing a pressure area. Available in a range of sizes.

STRUCTURE
A Softform Premier mattress which has been fitted with a dynamic underlay. The underlay which alternates on a ten minute cycle can be introduced through connection to a portable pump. The mattress is comprised of a toughened Polyurethane coated base, a high density foam layer with side walls to contain the third layer of foam and a deep contoured insert pad which maximises body contact area to optimise pressure reduction.
The active air insert is a polyester based thermoplastic polyurethane film comprising multiple cellular construction.

PUMP/CONTROLS
This mattress is available with an electrically operated portable pump which may be connected to the mattress to provide an alternating air surface. Sensory software within the pump will assess individual patient weight and adjust levels of inflation accordingly. The air cells alternate on a ten minute cycle beneath the foam insert delivering a very low impact at the point of change, increasing comfort and pressure reduction.
COVER
The mattress has a two way stretch Polyurethane fluid resistant cover. The cover is fully removable and has a full length flap to conceal the zip.
CUSTOMISED FEATURES
Mattress is available in different overall width and depths upon request.
SAFETY FEATURES
In the event of pressure loss an audible alarm will sound and a red low pressure light will flash. In the event of a power failure a constant audible beep will sound.
The Softform Premier active mattress has been fully tested to comply with current CPR standard of a 4-5cm compression depth.
CLEANING REQUIREMENTS
The mattress cover and active insert may be wiped clean with a solution of neutral detergent and hot water. The pump unit, mains lead and tubing may be wiped over with a neutral detergent.
MAINTENANCE
The system should be checked periodically for damage and excessive wear.
