Short Description
A fully customisable foam and static air pressure reduction mattress. The mattress is constructed of foam layers with roho insert in the middle of the top layer. The mattress also features firm sides to assist with transfers and an integrated hinge system allowing use on adjustable beds. Macro Plus is similar to Macro but with additional roho heel sections. Supplied with a water resistant, vapour permeable, two way stretch cover. These mattresses can be customised to suit size and weight of user.

STRUCTURE: Three layers of foam. Top layer is visco foam with a roho insert. Middle and bottom layers are high density, high resilience foam. Side panels have convoluted centre portion (hinged system) to bend when elevating head section. Side panels made of firm foam to provide stability for transfers.
ATTACHMENT: Mattress sits on top of bed base without any attachment. A slip resistant base sits in contact with bed base.
COVER: Zipped dartex cover which is water resistant, vapour permeable and two way stretch. Heat sealed seams. Option of slip resistant base or commercial grade cotton cover.
CUSTOMISED FEATURES: Size can be customised.
APPLICATION: Supplier states the mattress is appropriate for clients at low to high risk of developing pressure areas.
SAFETY: Fire retardant foams are used.
CLEANING: Wipe over with ph neutral detergent and water.
MAINTENANCE: Dispose of foam products if they are wet, contaminated or become deformed or mishapen. Roho sections should be checked regularly to ensure level of inflation is appropriate.

This mattress is made to order. Size is thus fully customisable
Caution
All pressure reduction products must be monitored to prevent 'bottoming out'. This occurs when the user's weight bears down so hard on the product material that it is flattened and the bony parts are pressed against the surface below the cushion or mattress. Where bottoming out occurs even with correct use (eg correct inflation levels), a different product may need to be considered.
