Short Description
A foam mattress with enclosed air cylinders that adapt to the users position to assist with pressure distribution. The mattress also features an anti-shear foam top surface. The mattress gently tapers towards the heels to assist with re-distributing pressure. This is a non-powered air mattress system. The Air Reflex System consists of four vertical air cylinders and two horizontal elasticised foot end reservoirs that aid in redistribution of pressure when the client moves. Suitable for users at medium risk of developing pressure areas.

STRUCTURE: The top consists of a foam layer tapered at the foot end to assist with pressure reduction under the feet. The mattress is edged with a perimeter of firm foam to assist with bed transfers and to direct the user towards the middle of the mattress. The foam layer is also cut into a geometric pattern to assist with pressure distribution and reduce shear. Underneath the foam there is a layer of four individual interconnected air tubes and two horizontal, elasticised reservoirs. They are made of a welded nylon material.
ATTACHMENT: This is a mattress replacement system. The mattress has a slip resistant base cover.
FEATURES: Patented geometric design of foam on top of mattress in contact with user. This aims to reduce shearing. Distinct head, torso, calf and heel zones within the mattress. Heel zone tapers to redistribute weight from the heels to the calves. Firm edges provided by the perimeter foam to assist with transfers. Compared with alternating air mattresses the mattress is quiet and does not generate heat. This system claims to equalise pressure over the entire surface area.
COVER: The top cover is made of a covered nylon material, soft touch two way stretch material. It has breathable properties that aim to keep the user dry and prevent fluid contacting the mattress. The cover is water resistant. The cover has a 360 degrees zipper to allow more thorough cleaning. The bottom is covered in a durable, slip resistant vinyl. The cover is fire retardant.
SAFETY: This system is contraindicated with users who have unstable spinal cords or unstable fractures. There is no comment in the manufacturers notes regarding CPR and the use of this mattress.
MAINTENANCE: When the surface containing the interconnected support tubes has a marked depression, air may be added using the hand pump provided. Following this insert the auto adjust valve which will reset the tubes to the correct pressure. An auto adjust valve is then inserted to prevent the mattress from becoming over-inflated. The mattress is delivered pre-inflated.
CLEANING: Manufacturer recommends wiping visible soiling from the mattress with a soft cloth or paper towel and soapy water. Disinfect with intermediate level disinfectant. Do not expose the mattress to excessive moisture as this may cause damage.
WARRANTY: Five year warranty.
