Short Description
A static air and foam pressure relieving mattress replacement system. The mattress is not electrically operated but rather air chambers adjust in pressure with the user's weight and movement. The top layer of foam is convoluted. Suitable for people at medium risk of developing pressure sores. Available in two lengths.

STRUCTURE: The mattress is made up of two layers of high density foam separated by four air cylinders positioned lengthwise. The top layer of foam is convoluted to increase user comfort and has had an antibacterial treatment to reduce the possibility of contamination. The mattress has a sloped heel section which reduces heel breakdown. The mattress also has a firm perimeter around the edge which provides seating support for the user or caregiver.
ATTACHMENT: Mattress is placed on bed base. There are no straps for attachment however the underneath surface has a non slip material which helps mattress stay on the base.
COVER: The standard cover (SoFlux LVT) is fluid resistant, antifungal and bacterial resistant. There is also an optional multidirectional stretch cover (Recovery 5) which reduces shear and friction. The Recovery 5 cover is also fluid resistant and breathable.
OPERATION: The mattress incorporates Self Adjusting Technology (SAT) which is a system of dynamic air cylinders and preset valves that maximise body weight displacement and minimises tissue interface pressure. When body weight is placed on the surface a preset one-way output valve opens allowing air to escape. The valve shuts off when optimum internal pressure is reached. When body weight is shifted off a cylinder, a one-way intake valves allow air to re-enter and refill the cylinder, which then returns to its original shape.
COMMENTS: . Does not use a motor, pump or sensor - eliminates power requirements.
CLEANING: Covers can be wiped down.
