Short Description
These mattress overlays are made from a dry viscoelastic polymer (akton gel polymer), which mimics human fatty tissue in consistency and does not migrate. It is available in a range of sizes. Overlays can be used to cover the entire surface or isolated areas of an existing standard mattress. The pad conforms to the body shape for cushioning. It is designed to dissipate body heat and distributes pressure equally. Suitable for individuals at medium to high risk of developing pressure sores.

ATTACHMENT: The full bed mattress pads ie. Models 6301, 6302 and 6303, are available with an Anchoring Hitch to hold the pad in position on the bed when the head or foot sections of the bed are elevated. The velcro straps are threaded through the bed frame to secure the pad to the mattress.
Compatible with an electric blanket. Position the electric blanket underneath the overlay. The suppliers states that the heat will be conducted through the overlay to the user.
MAINTENANCE: The gel will not leak if punctured, but the puncture should be repaired. The overlay is self healing. If the pad is cut or punctured, apply talcum powder to the sticky area and a skin will form. A repair kit is also available from the supplier.
Ensure pads are rolled when transporting. Before rolling, turn pad over so the underside faces up, this prevents the upper side from creasing.
Caution should be taken as pads are heavy to lift.
CLEANING: The overlay is easily cleaned and won`t absorb body fluids. Clean with water and disinfectant. Do not use alcohol as it may harden the surface.
