Convoluted Foam Overlay

Short Description
Convoluted (egg shell) foam mattress overlays can aid comfort for people experiencing pain or discomfort whilst in bed. They are not sufficient to reduce the risk of pressure sore development or for managing existing pressure sores. They are generally available in a range of sizes and may also be available in different densities of foam.

MATERIALS - made of a single layer of convoluted, high density foam

METHOD OF USE: Place on top of the mattress with the convoluted side uppermost.

FEATURES: Provides a softer surface than the mattress and can help in the relief of painful areas in some users. Convolution provide greater air circulation.

Options
Options will vary between suppliers. Often available in sizes to suit standard beds eg single, double, queen and king.

Some overlays are made from higher quality (higher density) foam. Some overlays are thicker than others. A thicker overlay and higher density foam generally provides more comfort than a thin layer of low density foam. Higher density foams will generally last longer.
