Short Description
An alternating one in two cell cycle electrically powered pressure relief air mattress overlay system. Recommended for infants and small children at high to very high risk of developing pressure sores or for palliative care use where high comfort is necessary. Suitable for hospitals, rehabilitation and domestic use. Available in crib or cot sizes.

STRUCTURE
A range of high density polyurethane heat sealed air cells. Sewn in retaining cell straps prevent any cell encroachment and discomfort, while anti kink air hosing eliminates any bottoming out.
ATTACHMENT
Secures firmly to any crib/cot size base mattress with heavy duty adjustable nylon straps.
PUMP/CONTROLS
The pump secures with two hangers, safely over the foot end of the crib/cot. Powered by an electric 220/230V pump which attaches to the overlay with air hoses. The control unit delivers 21dB and is enclosed in a heavy duty fire retardant casing.
Features an On/Off switch, Pressure setting turn dial (Interface pressure gets adjusted to the user weight), illuminated display status (Normal mode/low pressure), transportation / power failure hose clamp off style.
COVER
A removable washable, anti-static, anti-allergenic, biocompatibility, breathable (vapor permeable), fire retardant, two way stretch, waterproof, weldable seams (Optional).
SAFETY FEATURES
Warning Signals: low pressure status.
CLEANING
Using a sponge with hot water at 60 degrees celcius and with a 10:1 mixture of sodium hypochlorite/detergent (bleach) clean the product in order; removing excess cleaning liquid after each step. Dry thoroughly using single use clean paper towels (Please refer to product user manual for machine washing instructions).
MAINTENANCE
12 monthly service is recommended to get the full life span of the product. This can be arranged through Pegasus Healthcare. Avoid dropping the power unit or accidental piercings e.g. needles, and exposed springs from bed fame. Motor and mattress can be repaired as necessary.

Factors to Consider
All pressure reduction products must be monitored to prevent any 'bottoming out'. This occurs when the user's weight bears down so hard on the product material that it is flattened and the bony prominences are pressed against the surface below the mattress or seating cushion. Where bottoming out occurs even with correct use (e.g. correct inflation levels), a different product may need to be used. User weights can change over time and the weight limit including linen on bed etc should not exceed the recommended product safe working load limit.
If non-blanchable erytheme is observed either reposition the patient more frequently or upgrade to a higher level support surface.
The mattress can be punctured.
