Short Description
An electrically operated air filled mattress replacement for clients at high to very high risk of developing pressure sores. The mattress can function in either low air loss or alternating air modes. Available in single size only.

STRUCTURE: Consists of 24 horizontal air filled cells. Eight of the cells at the hell end are micro cells to provide additional contouring. These cells adjust independently to the other cells.
De.Teq module constantly adjusts cushion pressure to a minimum.
OPERATION: Three modes are available:
1) Continous low pressure mode: provides the maximum possible distribution of the patient's body weight and therefore the minimum tissue interface pressure.
2) Alternating low pressure mode: provides alternating air pressure therapy without high peak tissue interface pressures. Cells alternate with a 1 in 4 cycle.
3) Transportation Mode: allows for a minimum of two hours transportation on an inflated mattress away from power.
ATTACHMENT:
PUMP/CONTROLS: Palm sized control panel. Low noise motor.
COVER: The cover made from a product known as Protex. The features of this product are that it is waterproof, moisture vapour permeable, two way stretch to reduce shear and friction, non-irritant and anti-inflammable. It also has bacteriostatic and anti-fungal cover.
SAFETY: CPR lever deflates the surface rapidly.
COMMENTS: Compatible with an electric blanket and head raise with an adjustable bed.
CLEANING REQUIREMENTS:
MAINTENANCE: All electrically powered air mattresses require regular servicing and maintenance. Refer to the manufacturer's manual for further instructions.

Factors to Consider
All pressure reduction products must be monitored to prevent 'bottoming out'. This occurs when the user's weight bears down so hard on the product material that it is flattened and the bony parts are pressed against the surface below the cushion or mattress. Where bottoming out occurs even with correct use (eg. correct inflation levels), a different product may need to be considered.
