Short Description
A clip on sling holding a small fluid filled cushion to be used for a limited time when not sitting in wheelchair. Available in two sizes.
More Details
MATERIALS: It consists of 2 parts:
1. A lightweight cushion made up of a foam moulded base and a Jayflo pad with a loose casing of double urethane sealed to keep out water. The cushion has a washable removable cover. The urethane cover is marked to indicate front and back. Contoured to be higher at the back to encourage more upright posture.
2. A body attaching sling to secure the cushion to the body. The sling is made of durable nylon pack cloth to withstand abrasions, the sides and back are lined with 20 mm water repelling foam. It provides some back support and is held in place by a waist strap and two thigh straps with "snap in" buckles. Buckle is squeezed between thumb and forefinger to release strap.
CLEANING: Machine wash and dry cover and sling.
COMMENTS: One size fits most adults.
Designed to be used on a slung seat. Can be used on specially designed half solid seat if a solid seat is required.
Jay Flow Fluid pads plus LoShear cover helps reduce the effects of shear experienced with frequent movement.
APPLICATION: The risk group for which the cushion is appropriate has not been stated by the supplier.
Useful for those who need some protection when transferring or sitting out of their wheelchair for short periods up to 4 hours eg, in racing chairs, horseriding, car and restaurant seats, camping, fishing, etc.
POINTS TO CONSIDER: - An alternative protective pad for use when not in wheelchair.
- Can be used in wet areas, eg. shower with cover removed.
- Recommended for use in limited time periods only.
- Not a replacement for a wheelchair cushion.
