Access Bath

Short Description
The Access Bath is a tilting "W" shaped fibreglass bath on a stainless steel frame. A hand held control operates the tilt. When the bath is in the access position, the user can walk into it and sit down. In the bathing position the seat becomes a triangular support, keeping the hips and knees in a flexed position to prevent the user slipping down in the bath. More Details
. The Access Bath is for people who are ambulant or who use a wheelchair but can make a standing transfer to an armchair with or without assistance.
. It is made from fibreglass and sits on a stainless steel frame with an actuator that enables the bath to be tilted forward so the user can independently (or with assistance), walk into the bath and sit down.
. A hand held control is used to smoothly tilt the bath backwards to a horizontal position. The bath is then filled using a hose fitting.
. The bath is higher that normal so less bending is required by the attendant. An adjustable head support pillow is an option.
. In the access (sitting) position, the bath can be used as a shower enclosure. The sidewalls protect an attendant from the shower spray.

Models
Available as two models: tilt only and tilt with height adjustment.

Installation
The plumbing and drain installation is the same as for conventional baths. The only difference is the flexible drainpipe from the bath to the floor drain. The bath spout with conventional hot and cold taps should be replaced with the shower handset which is supplied with the Access Bath.
