More Details
Typewriters are useful for supplementing handwriting where typing speeds are adequate to complete tasks in a competitive time. They require no specialised training to operate.
FEATURES TO CONSIDER:-
. Weight
. Display size
. Editing
. Print: some mobiles provide standard and large print options
. Portability: in addition to considering weight, some models come with a handle and/or case.
. Noise: some people may benefit from auditory feedback to confirm a key strike. Other situations may require minimal distractions.
NB: Word processors are similar to typewriters but can also offer spelling and grammar checking and may have facilities for inserting tables and graphs and for editing and saving documents. Some also save text to a disk for transfer to a computer. Word processors are useful when a typewriter does not provide adequate editing and correction facilities but a computer is inappropriate or overkill.
