Registration:
All Nippis must be registered as three wheeled motorcycles. The owner must provide:
. a Motorcycle Safety Check Report (pink slip) from an Authorised Inspection Station
. a current CTP green slip
. appropriate POI and proof of acquisition
Licence:
To drive a Nippi the driver must
. have a rider licence with the condition 'X118 - rider may only ride a special mobility vehicle' unless they are an able bodied person with a current rider licence
. wear an approved motorcycle helmet
To obtain a SMV (Special Mobility Licence) the driver must meet all the normal licensing requirements. They may be required to do certain tests and provide a doctor's report unless they are exempt.
