After the adjustment has been made to existing equipment or a new product has been made, the client's parents or guardians need to obtain / sign a number of letters:
1. A medical certificate from a doctor to state why this person needs this kind of tansport option
2. Written approval from the RTA
3. Consent form signed by client's parents or guardians
4. Written instructions from MPS including a warning that the equipment is only to be used by this client and other issues
Models
Examples of modifications:
. customised moulded supports for car seats
. individually moulded anterior and lateral head supports
. extended car seat for a child without spinal, hip and knee flexion
Standards
For some types of equipment, specific Australian or other Standard(s) are applicable to the materials used in, the manufacturing processes applied to and the installation of products.
