Short Description
A rigid frame self propelled wheelchair with a manually operated stand up mechanism. This is two hand operated using gas springs (struts) to assist standing. The wheelchair features a reclining and folding backrest and an adjustable depth seat. It is available with four seat widths. A range of options is available.

This is a scripted wheelchair. The supplier takes the measurements and sends them to France where the chair is made.

Factors To Consider
Caution should be exercised prior to trial or purchase of a Stand Up wheelchair. Medical clearance by a doctor is recommended before standing. Assessment of the person's cognitive ability to safely use the Stand Up wheelchair is an important consideration. There may be concerns for a person who has not stood for a period of time in relation to

* Fluctuating blood pressure
* Orthopaedic disorders
* Brittle bones
* Osteoporosis
* Hip, knee and ankle contractures
* Assessment by a physiotherapist is also recommended before trial or purchase of a Stand Up wheelchair.
