Short Description
Voluntary group will design, construct and modify special aids that are not commercially available for the aged and people with disabilities. Clients only pay for cost of materials. Can also provide information on technology and its applications for people with disabilities. Will also lend computers to people with disabilities. Service available throughout metropolitan area.

Technical Aid to the Disabled:-
. When the need for equipment arises and a suitable commercial item cannot be found, TAD may be approached to either modify an existing item or develop a completely new device for an individual need.
. Because TAD is a voluntary organisation, the client pays only for the
technical volunteer's out-of-pocket expenses.
. Outside of Sydney TAD has branches and interest groups in Albury-Wodonga, Broken Hill, Clarence Valley, Central Coast, Central West, Dubbo, Griffith, Hunter, Illawarra, Northern Ribers, Shoalhaven, Southern Highlands and Wagga.
. TAD sister organisations exist in all states, the ACT and NT.
