Short Description
There are seven Independent Living Centres in Australia and in addition to the provision of information and advice by telephone, correspondence, facsimile and in some centres - email, each Centre houses a permanent and changing exhibition of commercially available products and equipment suitable for people with a disability and the older person.

. Working from the National Catalogue Structure which is copyright to the Australian Committee, the Independent Living Centres have a combined total of over 60,000 items listed in their information systems allowing at least 120,000 enquiries to be answered annually.
. Independent Living Centres are non-profit organisations and all equipment displayed at the Centres is provided on loan from suppliers.
. Products are not manufactured, hired or sold at any Independent Living Centre.
ILC NSW (Inc.) services include:-
. Approximately 3000 items are on display and 6000 items recorded on the database.
. Appointments can be made with health professional to try out products, or there is open visiting to the centre from Monday - Friday.
. Telephone information line for enquiries, or by fax, mail or email.
