Unitrend Anywhere Rails - Suction Handrails

ILC Reference NO 81:71:002
Item sourced from ILC ACT database

Model 350

Short Description
A range of portable grab rails with a rubber vacuum grip at each end for attaching the rail to a wall surface. The range includes plastic and stainless steel rails. An indicator panels show when suction is correctly applied. The rails are not designed to take the full user weight. May be useful as a temporary grab rail.

Caution
. The rails are not designed to support full body weight
. Always check the rail is secure before use
. Do not attach to moving surfaces
. The device should be used only for short term periods. With prolonged usage periods, check for firm holding of the suction device. The rail should be re-attached if suction begins to fail
. The suction device will only adhere as well as the base layer itself. Before using the device check the adhesive properties of the substratum (eg the tile on the wall, plaster)
. High climatic temperature (ie above 30 degrees celsius) will reduce the tensile force
. Use under water reduces adhesive power
. Never use a rail with damaged suction discs as the suction will not hold.
. The device should only be used on a smooth, non-porous surface that is steam tight, clean, dry and free of dust, oils and greases
. The suction devices themselves must be kept clean, dry and free of oils and grease
. Do not release the device with sharp instruments, as this may damage the suction discs
. This rail is not designed to support the whole body weight
. Check users' manual for further information

More Details
The suction adheres to most smooth and non porous surfaces which are pore and steam tight, dry and free of oils and grease eg tile, marble and glass. Use of the rail under water or in extreme temperatures eg sauna, will reduce the suction power.
Handle can be fixed in any position and angle
Easily transportable - can fit into a suitcase for travelling

Materials
Plastic rails - 350mm and 500mm, have rubber pads under the grip section of the rail to improve grip.

Stainless steel rails - these rails have plastic suction ends. The rail can be removed from the suction end by removing a locking pin.
