Moraterm Thermostatic Mixing Valves

ILC Reference NO 81:49:010
Item sourced from ILC ACT database

Picture

Short Description
A range of thermostatic mixing valves that includes models for exposed and concealed installation, with or without accessible temperature adjustment, and for specialised use in hospitals. All models have a fail safe mechanism which shuts off the valve in the event of cold water failure.

Price Guide
Refer to supplier details for pricing.

More Details
. The thermostatic mixing valves automatically regulate the input flows of cold and hot water to ensure an output with a constant set temperature.
. The mixing valve has very few moving parts. When there is a change in the temperature or pressure of the cold or hot water supply to the valve, the thermostat changes the position of the piston so that the respective flows are adjusted to quickly stabilize the temperature of the output water.
. For those that prefer a hotter shower, it is possible to temporarily increase the temperature of the output water. Pressing a red button on the handle allows it to be turned a further 7ºC. Even at this increased temperature, the water is not dangerously hot.

FEATURES
. Chrome finish
. Max temperature setting is 50 degrees C. Temperature can be re-calibrated to desired temperature at time of installation
. Valve is accurate to set temperature by + or - 1 degree C.
. Wall mounted
. In built non return valves and filters

SAFETY FEATURE
In the event of an interruption to the cold water supply, the valve immediately shuts off, preventing scalding.

SERVICING
Apart from the temperature spindle, the valve has only one major moving part - the lime resistant, Teflon coated piston. Maintenance is easy and quickly completed.

WATER PRESSURES
The valve is designed to handle all normal water pressure fluctuations. In situations where large variations in pressure can be expected, a Mora pressure balancing device part no. 129360 may be installed to give the valve a dual control feature.

Models
A range of models is available for bath, shower and multiple use, with open or exposed fixing. Some models include the Lockshield Temperature Control, to prevent unwanted tampering with the temperature level. This control is accurate to set temperature by + or - 1 degree and can only be adjusted with a key provided with the valve.

Standards
Some assistive technology needs to meet Australian or other standards. Standards may relate to materials, manufacturing and installation. Products that meet Australian or international standards will have written certification. To find out if a product meets Australian Standards ask the supplier to show you the certificate. For more information on what standards the equipment may need to meet, see http:// www.ilcaustralia.org.au/home/standards.asp
