FM Mattsson Thermostatic Mixing Valves

ILC Reference NO 81:49:003
Item sourced from ILC ACT database

Short Description
The thermostatic mixing valves are designed to control the maximum temperature of blended water and are suitable for use with mains pressure water systems only. Exposed and concealed thermostatic mixing valves are available and both feature adjustable and fixed temperature models.

More Details
The selected temperature is maintained regardless of variations in water pressure or temperature and an anti scald device automatically shuts off the water if hot or cold water supply fails.

. Models are available to suit showers, baths, basin and dual outlets.

* The water temperature of the thermostatic mixing valves is designed to remain within one degree of the temperature set.
* This range is compatible with a mains pressure hot water supply or pump system greater than 100 kpa.
* These mixing valves can be used as a central point to regulate variations in water temperature and pressure in a multi outlet system. For example a bath, basin and shower can be regulated by a central thermostatic mixing valve. Each outlet is required to be located within six metres of the central mixing valve.
* The fixed temperature model features a fixed preset maximum water temperature of 38 degrees Celsius.
* The adjustable temperature model features a lock button that must be pressed while simultaneously turning the temperature knob to increase the water temperature.
* A range of finishes and trims available including chrome, white and platinum.

Models
EXPOSED THERMOSTATIC MIXING VALVES
* Exposed components consist of a wall mounted cartridge with a control knob at each end.
* The left knob controls the water flow rate. To increase water flow, the left knob is turned anti clockwise. To reduce water flow the knob is turned clockwise.
* The right knob controls water temperature. Turning the right knob clockwise produces cold water. Turning the knob anti clockwise produces warm water. After one complete turn the over ride button must be pressed in order to obtain warmer water. The knob can be turned another half turn after releasing this safety device.

CONCEALED THERMOSTATIC MIXING VALVES
* Concealed thermostatic mixing valves reduce the unit size that protrudes from the wall surface.
* Concealed models may be installed in thin walls that may not support an exposed cartridge.
* All components of concealed thermostatic mixing valves are concealed except for the control handle used to set water temperature.
* Controls for water flow rate are mounted elsewhere such as a shower, bath or basin mixing tap.
* Maximum temperature setting can be locked to avoid tampering.

Options
* Bath or shower mixing tap.
* Bath tub spout.
* Bath tub spout with shower diverter and hose connection.
